About Flamingo Bikes Bonaire

Welcome to Flamingo Bikes Bonaire!

My name is Jelmer Krap and I am the founder of Flamingo Bikes Bonaire. I have been working on bicycles with passion for over 14 years. What started as a hobby grew into a career in which quality, engineering, and personal service have always been central.

Throughout my career, I have gained experience at various leading companies within the bicycle industry. For example, I worked at the Cannondale factory, where I acquired valuable knowledge regarding the production and quality of high-end bicycles. In 2019, I achieved a 2nd place finish at the Dutch Bicycle Technician Championship, an achievement I am still proud of.

In addition, I have had the opportunity to work for the professional cycling team Beat Cycling, where accuracy, speed, and perfect maintenance are of essential importance. I bring this experience with me to my workshop every day.

After moving to Bonaire, I decided to make my dream come true: a modern bicycle shop where quality, craftsmanship, and hospitality come together. Flamingo Bikes is more than just a bicycle shop. It is a place where residents and visitors can go for professional maintenance, expert advice, bicycle rental, and the sale of high-quality bicycles and accessories.

My mission is to get as many people on Bonaire as possible excited about cycling. That is why I not only dedicate myself as an entrepreneur, but I also enjoy collaborating with local initiatives and organizations that contribute to a stronger cycling culture on the island.
